HELLENIC AIR FORCE
The 337 "Ghost" Squadron was activated in 1983 at Andravida Air Base. Initially equipped with the F-4E Phantom II, the squadron earned its nickname "Ghosts" due to its exceptional night interception capabilities and low radar cross‑section tactics. Today, the squadron operates the F-16C/D Block 52+ Fighting Falcon, maintaining 24/7 Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) status for the Hellenic Air Force.
"Αόρατοι, Ακατανίκητοι" (Invisible, Unconquerable). The Ghosts are known for their stealthy approach and lethal precision.
Current Squadron Commander: Lt. Colonel Dimitris "Phantom" Raptis. The squadron has participated in numerous NATO exercises and real‑world intercept missions.
The Ghost emblem features a stylized phantom over the Aegean Sea, symbolising ethereal vigilance.
